Polaris RZR 1000 Driveshaft / Driveline Vibration Because of Unbalance
Polaris RZR 1000 owners love the performance they offer! What they don’t love is an irritating noise or vibration that is all too common on Polaris RZR 1000’s.
The vibration isn’t a result of anything the driver has done. It is a problem with the front drive shaft. Directly from the factory, they are unbalanced! With 1000 cc’s torquing away, the unbalanced driveline can quickly begin to mis-shape causing what was a minor vibration to become a major vibration. If left untreated, the vibration is capable of damaging your RZR transmission as well as other driveline parts. Here’s a few Youtube Videos showing what might be causing the noise you are hearing when accelerating.
Polaris RZR 1000 Driveshaft Noise Vibration Fix
If your machine is making noise or you can see the wobble shown in the previous videos, you may need to have the bearings replaced as shown in the first video. However, the problem will occur again if the unbalanced drive shaft is not fixed. The solution to this problem is to balance your driveline. While you may be able to get it close on your own, it is not recommended. We also do not recommend taking it in to your Polaris dealer. ManyRZR 1000 owners have reported that after having thousands of dollars worth of work done on their RZR 1000 to correct the problem, another brand new, factory, driveshaft was installed and it too was unbalanced. Your best bet is to remove the driveshaft or have a shop remove the driveshaft. You can then send it in to a driveline specialist to balance it correctly. This will eliminate future vibration problems with your RZR 1000.
